Sad but true to a great extent. They are finding that out here in Canada too. I have never seen as many crimes committed where a gun of some description was also involved. For the most part it is gangs and drug related with the majority of guns smuggled in from the US. You can only get so far legislating an inanimate object when you have to actually do something about the root cause which is much harder to do.

Only law abiding citizens abide by the law, therefor laws only affect law abiding citizens. Murder is illegal, but that doesn't stop it from happening.
That was sorta my point. You do want gun laws on the books to ensure safe storage of guns and ammo by the law-abiding citizens. I also don't want to see law abiding citizens walking around armed either. Yea, murder is illegal and should be delt with very severely, but it is not.
