The Welsh flag is great. The old English one is similar but in terms of Vexillology it has a white Wyvern rather than a dragon and is unique in that it has no back legs, thus a bipedal dragon.
The Welsh and the English both used Wyverns and Dragons in their old flags, heraldry and symbols.

Henry Tudor flew the red dragon of Cadwaladr ap Cadwallon as his banner, overlaid on a green and white field representing the Tudor House when he marched through Wales on his way to Bosworth Field. After the battle, the flag was carried in state to St Paul's Cathedral to be blessed.

Lets be honest though. This thread was always going to be contentious, it isn't the fault of the OP it just is. The World is in the battle for it's very soul in a fight against the liberal elite and the far left Marxists. None of those movements are compatable with the West. Ideologies never are and this ideology is extremely dangerous. Sure they come across as lovies, they love everyone, whatever your personal predicament or preference they love you. But they don't, they don't care about you more then any other political movement, what they want is power and domination and are happy to try to get that by violence and intimidation, although when they do, they manage to convince weak minded people they are doing it for the right reasons and that they are the good guys. They hate people like me. I'm White, I'm late 50's, no University degree, I work with my hands, I obey the law, apart from going over the speed limit now and then, I'm also capable of my own thoughts and am not a Sheep, I'm a Conservative. The very worst kind of Working Class man in their eyes. A traitor to their cause! Check that label, Working Class.
What cause? The Left are no different to the Right, if you think they are take a damn good look at them, All Sirs and Ladies, all Millionaires, all eduated at the highest levels, all getting on though the old school tie system, plus whatever deviant perversions they are involved in, see Epstiens Island visitors.
These people tell me I'm a facist, they call me a Nazi, a racist I have no right to be proud of my flag, of my country, of my kinsmen, of our achievments. They use these labels to shut me up.
Well I know exactly what they can do. They can all F**k Off. Common Purpose is a cancer in our country and if you don't know what Common Purpose is/are then I suggest you look them up and open your eyes and ears.

I share your love of the Welsh flag as a Welshman going back to at least the 17th century as far as I can trace. My generation has been the first not to speak Welsh. I've been enjoying Huw Edwards' documentary of the history of Wales, on BBC iPlayer. I think Wales has a pretty decent history, with some stand-out social demands like the Chartists and our NHS which was put together by Aneurin Bevan from Tredegar.

And there we go again. If someone says they love the Welsh flag, oh that's fine, no body jumps up and shouts racist right wing thug. When I say I love my countries flag it immediately conjures up images of a big bald fat football loving tattooed thug. The double standards are unreal.

Read it again I think you’ll find it perfectly sensible. Of course you may not agree with it but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense. Nothing senseless about it and I’m not ranting either merely putting across my point of view

And then I didn’t always get what was the reference when you say “they” and “those”, etc. By all means, you’re free to have whatever views you have, I just struggled with understanding the whats and whys is all. Having read it a couple of times I think I get what you meant — and provided that reading was the right one, guess I can also say that I disagree with parts, agree with others.

I agree with you about the reference to Macron Les - however, it’s a long standing usage both by the media and individuals. I’ve heard it used quite often in phrases such as ‘he had a good war’ which is a contradiction in terms on the face of it, but you get the meaning.

I disagree people are thinking more about the world around them. The internet and social media can do great good, it can bring education to many. It can also be an incredible force for evil. People who's intentions only serve themselves and provide a platform for their ideologies to many young impressionable minds. Just look at isis for one example.
Who get's into trouble, the heads of antifa, extinction rebellion, blm, or the young kids with the plaquards and spray cans, the ones with the ropes to pull down statues and petrol cans to burn? Generals never get shot, they stay well away from the action, in the shadows and send the gulliable to do their dirty work for them. You cannot think more about the world around you unless you take a balanced view. You only get balance when two sides of an argument is taught, this isn't happening in our Schools, Universities and on the internet.
Common Purpose has been seeded and now it's trying to come to fruition.
