I wondered if it was worth reapplying preshave between passes? Or would I be wasting my effort and product?

?Just thinking, I use a glycerin soap. Wouldn’t another layer of soap after the first pass accomplish the same or similar to an oil pre shave.
TBH I’ve never seen the point of a dedicated pre-shave product, I find the soap gives plenty of lubrication without needing help.Just thinking, I use a glycerin soap. Wouldn’t another layer of soap after the first pass accomplish the same or similar to an oil pre shave.
I agree with you, but for most people, yes. In my case, for example, if i put a tiny bit of Proraso Red preshave on my trouble area before applying lather, it's a major difference, especially when using a half DE shavette. However, i didn't try it between passes, will do with the next shave and share here. As always, i note here that everyone's skin and beard are different, so each to their own.TBH I’ve never seen the point of a dedicated pre-shave product, I find the soap gives plenty of lubrication without needing help.
Just curious - what sort of a difference does it make?I agree with you, but for most people, yes. I think it gives extra protection from the blade, because it feels less harsh when passing on those areas, and the aftershave gives the same amount of light and short sting as on the rest of the face.Just curious - what sort of a difference does it make?
What I'm wondering is whether it seems to soften the hair for you, provide some extra slickness, protect your skin from drying out there or maybe something else?
