Waited until September before having a go at the invasive ivy along my old garden wall - glad I did, looks like the remains of a Robin’s nest, no more than a yard of the ground. The picture looks like the nest is there for all to see, but it wasn’t, it only revealed itself after me cutting some ivy branches away.
What’s odd is that 15’ farther along the wall another foot or so higher we have a natural void in the old stone work and the neighbour’s cat despite our best efforts was regularly on the ground beneath it trying to catch the nesting blue tits going back and forth. Never did see if they were successful this year to raise a family.

On the subject of photography, what a con the BBC Countryfile competition is. Just googled the 12 finalists and out of 12, 11 have their own websites and most have their own photography businesses. One of them first actually sells their photos, and is asking for votes, that to me makes them professional.

I'm having a nice relaxing week with the wife and dogs on the beautiful West Coast of Wales, Saundersfoot and Tenby, long walks great food what's not to like. Next week it gets extremely busy with the Iron Man competition, my Nephew is one of the competitors, he's in the senior section, he just completed the German Frankfurt Iron Man, fingers crossed for a good time.
