Mount St. Helens, Washington circa 2017. It erupted in the early 80’s. The damage is still evident. My wife and I hiked the adjacent mountains.
Spirit Lake, roughly 5-10 clicks SW of Mount St. Helens. The blast cut trees in half, only the trunks remain, several mountains tops away. Some of those trees are still floating in the lake. Parts of our trail, the earth is darkened from being scorched.
