We use to have a Cockatiel. It use to copy the phone ringing ! The amount of times we picked up the phone nd no one was there ! Use to copy a few noises and the odd word (no rude ones) !
We just recently got Riley. They’re just a few months old. I’ve never lived with a bird before. They certainly love to snuggle. It’s cool to have someone to watch my soccer with. The wife and kids can only tolerate small amounts of the sports. We use to have a Cockatiel. It use to copy the phone ringing ! The amount of times we picked up the phone nd no one was there ! Yeah they can have a right character to them and quickly pick up tunes. My grandad breed them, so we were use to them for many years. We had a Yellow one and also a white faced. We just recently got Riley. They’re just a few months old. I’ve never lived with a bird before. They certainly love to snuggle. We think ours is a female and doesn’t speak as much. The males talk more and can learn more tricks. I really don’t mind and just enjoy having a buddy around that can be funny and kind.Yeah they can have a right character to them and quickly pick up tunes. i was going to say I thought it might be a girl as it’s cheeks aren’t as bright and the bit above the beak on a male is usually grey. But that said it’s probably a bit young. like you say though they make good companions. Looks as well though you have done the right thingby handling from the start and taming it, them beaks are lethal. Enjoy you little feather friend, millet and sunflower seeds, bit of cuttlefish and them seed bars and he/she will be happy. We think ours is a female and doesn’t speak as much. Since they’re a pied patterned cockatiel it’s impossible to distinguish male from female unless you do a dna test.i was going to say I thought it might be a girl as it’s cheeks aren’t as bright and the bit above the beak on a male is usually grey.
