Was down at VA Hospital as Sun was rising, noticed Small Flower on Big Cactus, more are going to bloom. But got one good Flower in Bloom.

This belongs to my grandfather William James Pugh, his retirement miners lamp, my grandfather, he was born in Dowlais 1911, became a miner after leaving school aged 15 in 1926, he later went on to serve in the Second World War, after the war ended he went back to his mining job, worked there all his life until he retired from Tower Colliery, my father was also a miner, sadly he was killed in a mining explosion in Tower Coliery in 1964 I was aged 5 and my brother Michael was aged 7. My grandfather continued to work there long after my father was killed. I'm very proud of my family connection to the miners. My great-grandfather, Roger Pugh, was also a miner. He was also from Dowlais; he came to Merthyr in the 1880s, and he married a Dowlais girl, Margaret Evans.

I have posted the image below before but your picture put me in mind of it and have posted it once again
The scene is the High Island Reservoir in Hong Kong which was built by Italian Contractor Vianini.
The odd concrete shapes are called rip rap and were installed, one at at time in the back of a massive dump truck, their purpose is to break up the strength of the waves. You can judge their size by the people lying on them
