I know from owning many Swiss made watches. That most and if not all manufacturers of Swiss watches have 40% of parts made in china. And 60% remaining done in house in Swiss. Same to be said about razors I can’t speak. But it has made me think a little more than I would have liked I must admit

I know people who purchased at the moment the razor dropped who have also received this email. Why such a lack of available stock.

Because the bloke is a shyster? Has he taken their money? If so I suspect he’s using their money to fund the production run - he must have run out of the $10k he allegedly ripped Bullgoose off for.

There are so many things here that raise my eyebrows.

First, electropolishing is not the same thing as passivation. If he thinks it is, anyone who ordered one is going to enjoy a nice little side of tea staining to go along with their razor.

Second, since when is 316 an "upgrade?" The previous razor was 17-4 stainless, which is just about the finest metal you can make a razor with. 316 is marginally better than 304, and both of those are considered standard stainless razor material, so technically he should have said "downgrade," but that probably didn't quite hit the vibe he was going for.

Still, I gotta admit, it looks pretty nice for an $80 razor.

Edit: didn't look at the price. Now that I have, I can't stop laughing. I won't be owning one. I don't have anything against expensive Chinese products, but I want my money's worth.

I think that it is very common in most countries to require only a certain percentage of parts to be made in that country for an item to be called made in that country. Realizing that takes the shine off the prestige certain countries have earned for their manufactured goods.

To be totally honest I wasn’t worried about a delay although that certainly should and could have been avoided. The potential timing of a delivery sucked. I may well get one down the line but sincerely doubt it and that’s nothing to do with the razor.

Hey J

This is sadly true for many Swiss Made watches as the requirements are a lax in that regard.

Regarding the Blutt razor, it is 100% Made in Switzerland, all parts, all operations. The packaging is from Southern Germany.
The raw material is from the EU (Portugal, Germany, depending on availability), as there are simply no foundries for stainless steel in Switzerland anymore.

Now I will not further comment on this thread, but I wanted to clarify that we have no desire to manufacture in China.
