Old Spice ?

Honestly, the Dollar Stores sell Vi-Jon Spice After Shave. I shouldn't tell my secrets, but I decant it into vintage Old Spice bottles. It smells exactly the same to me!

Must check for it next time I see a Dollar Store. Thanks for the heads up

Obviously I can buy a bottle of the current production OS in my local pharmacy, but want to weigh as many options as possible.

The biggest difference between old production OS and new (in my opinion) is that the new stuff takes on an odor from the plastic bottles. If decanted into glass (vintage OS bottles are perfect for this), and left for a month or two, it loses whatever the plastic odors are that contaminate the modern stuff.

I don't have the greatest sniffer though. Super sensitive noses can still tell a slight difference.

Yes. Some time ago I did the redecant with Pinaud Clubman into an empty glass bottle. It was ok. Then I discovered Pitralon Pure, which to my nose smells like a refined and classy Cubman-esque scent. I PIFfed the Pinaud to a pal - he loves the stuff and I‘m crazy about the Pitralon. Win, win!

Cracked it open for today’s shave. The scent brought me back 50 years. The post shave exceeded my expectations.
