Loading soap like a beast and keep its shape when you push hard?

Without much backbone the brush splays flat on the face, without lifting the hairs very well. Does not provide the face massage.

That's why I'm into tuxedos. Except the look, which is brilliant, all are soap suckers in less than 15 seconds.

Boars always were too scratchy for me in the second and third pass.

They also give me brush burn for some reason. Any tips?

Brushes don't lift hairs, that's a myth. Brushes also don't exfoliate or provide a face massage, another myth.

If your skin is too sensitive for them then I don't think there is anything you can do about it. I don't find them scratchy, there is a bit of presence when first lathering up but 2nd and 3rd pass the tips feel like a silvertip badger.

Not all of them are that stiff. The Zenith is said to have finer hair and it is softer. Omega initially is not that soft, but the tips start to split after a week and two. I love my Omega brushes. I prefer them to badgers...
There are other ways to split the hairs faster, but I prefer to let them do it naturally during use.

If you are pushing a badger brush flat on your face that is too much pressure on it. As boar brushes have way more backbone that kind of pressure will give you brush burn. None of that kind of pressure is necessary to load the soap onto the brush or lather up with it. Even soft synthetic brushes do not need a lot of pressure to load and lather triple milled soaps. Just ease up.

If you don't have enough soap and water in a boar brush it will feel scratchy on the second and third passes especially if you are heavy handed with it.

Maybe load more in every pass then to be sure?
