They are a cool and novel idea.. I needed a two pound item to get Amazon free delivery last week and had I known about them I would have bought them... I just think a small sample is just as minimalist and I doubt that those leaves work as well as say, Castle Forbes. Also, a sample is watertight and won't be ruined by wet hands - a complaint I've seen in reviews of the soap leaves...
Just tried it (albeit with a Lea stick - I have one arm in a cast and can't hold the sample pot and get croap out of it) - rubbed some in my stubble and lathered without a brush, just using my hand. Not brilliant, but workable lather.. without the brush you won't have lather for more than a single pass, but one pass is enough to look presentable in my experience. If you have two hands available you might be able to use one hand to lather and the other one to shave and have enough for two passes...Cheaper direct from Lifeventure.
According to their website this weighs 14g. I have a little sample pot of Castle Forbes Cedarwood&Sandalwood that weighs 13.8g (used once before, let's call it 14g).
I'm sure I can get a decent lather rubbing a tiny amount into my stubble and lathering up with my hand. I'd also easily get 10 shaves from the little pot that way. And I'd smell nice. I know what I'd use
