Hello from Texas! I’m not new to wet shaving, but am new to engaging more in the community.

I started with a shavette several years ago and before long, I was tempted into the wide world of DE razors. I started big with a handful of notable modern razors, but recently am discovering that I may prefer some vintage razors more than most of the modern ones I’ve collected. I have found the forums here and many of you knowledgeable folks very helpful in researching the vintage Gillettes I’ve been interested in and am happy to now be a member!

Nothing beats vintage, but they keep trying. I think they're on a fools errand.

How old does it have to be, to be classed as vintage?

It's different for different people. WW2 is the tipping point for me.

There are classifications where things produced before 1970 are considered antiques. And those produced from 1970 to 1990 are vintage. But this is a very conditional classification.

Of the 6 or 7 razors I’ve picked up recently, most date to the 30’s, I’ve got one NEW #88 dated to ‘45, and a Rocket that I believe is a #59 dated to ‘56. So vintage to me, but antique by @TRS definition!

I think the only time I use the word antique is with furniture.
