New Mühle stainless steel razor 'Rocca'

Thank you for your feedback! Interesting to hear your findings, can’t wait to add mine to this thread.
After experiencing with other razors for some time I found myself reaching more and more to Rocca for its clean and deep shave.
I had some rough times with it in the beginning but I sorted everything out by giving it time and more attention to angle and pressure. Also, I have narrowed down the blade selection and I go for sure now - Feather, Gillette Platinums, Bolzano and Wilkinsons.

One more question, if you were to choose only one handle with the V4, which one would it be? Birch, black or stainless?
I have the black one and I don’t know which to choose for the V4 version - birch or stainless? I like both but I don’t know how birch will be holding on over time.
At the same time, all my razors are chrome or SS..so no color or something different in my den.
Please don’t say “ get them both” 🙃 Thanks!
Personally I wish I’d gone for the stainless. I got the black. The birch does look nice as well though...The choice is yours :)

I picked a Rocca up on the BST that had either the V1 or V2 head. I found it a little rough. Mühle swapped it for a new head FOC and it shaves wonderfully. I'm not sure if the replaced head is a V3 or a V4 - I got it in January of this year. Great customer service and I rate the razor very highly now.

I'm tempted to try an R94 now they have supposedly sorted all the problems out
Interesting!!! I have the R96 which I have never been happy with, too rough for my liking. The R41 is one of my favorites. Having said that, I used a Polsilver Iridium blade the last time I used it and I had a much more comfortable shave.... not sure whether it was the blade or improved technique that made the difference but one thing I'm sure about this razor, you must show it some respect.

My R96 is the second released so V2 and I thought the V2 was the real deal :giggle:

Can I ask, what problems were supposedly sorted out?

It's now entirely CNC machined. On all previous versions due to the MIM process they were unable to maintain quality from one batch to another so some were fine but others had a slight gap where the blade is clamped, poor clamping = rubbish shave.

FWIW, if you contact Muhle telling them you have a V2 which gives a very unpleasant shave they will send you a new V4 head FOC.

I can vouch for this. I had a V1 or V2 that shaved like a rake. They sent me a replacement FOC and it's a really really good razor now. This happened on January of this year - not sure if I've now got a V3 or V4. Either way, it's the dogs danglies now.

That's great to know.

Is that Muhle UK or Germany?

Had my second shave with it tonight, it's a great performer. I purchased a week or so ago from executive shaving, great service. The razor is so nice and we'll balanced and surprisingly no issues with flow through.

Having said that I will be moving on, it's mainly due to my Timeless Titanium, it just doesn't get better than that no matter the situation.

So if someone does want to wait until BST are back up, I'll give someone as excellent deal. Genuinely think that apart from when I pick up a vintage adjustable, I'll be a one razor guy.
