Sounds similar to my experiences, I will definitely try a Voskhod next. Sounds like a good plan to try and master the razor, look forward to hearing your thoughts.
I’m certainly happy to share thoughts and experiences, though I think it may only be of use to other newbies and hope it is not to boring or naive for everyone else on here.

I’m sticking solely with the Rocca through all my blade trials.
Once I feel I am settling for a couple of brands, I’ll try my old adjustable Gillette again.
I’m curious what that will feel like once I’m really familiar and experienced with the Rocca, whether it’s no longer familiar and therefore no longer relatively forgiving, or an absolute breeze with the added experience and overcaution.
Also looking forward to dialling down the aggression once my technique has improved to see if I can use a mild razor.

I think you should buy mine to satisfy your curiosity :whistling:
Well, actually I thought about that, so that I have one at home, and one as a travel razor ;-)

Use a feather blade, its surgical precision enhances the Rocca. The only cut I have suffered was to my left earlobe. Face blemish free ( but still a face for radio).

Actually I judge my razors on how well they work with Feather blades ;-)

I have only used a feather twice in my shaving career. But will certainly give it a try.

Following a trade with Avnish, had my first shave with the Rocca this morning. Loaded with a Wizamet blade, latest T+S formula for lather. The verdict, one shave in, is that this is a nifty fifty razor. First pass on three days of growth was top three on this kind of stubble, and second pass smoothness was akin to Paradigm, possibly related to the same steep angle.

Glad you enjoyed the razor @halvor

Just curious, I hope you don’t mind me asking....

Did you try a feather and a Voskhod in the Rocca?
If so, what was your experience?

Any surprises?
Your preferred blades were still preferred or did normally less preferred blades perform unexpectedly better?

Hiya yes I tried it with a Feather and Vokshod. I'm afraid I didn't feel any noticeable difference. Of course this is just a personal experience. I found when going XTG or ATG in certain areas, I was experiencing blade chatter and also difficulty in getting a close shave on my neck. The shave on the cheeks were superb. I decided to move it on as I'm lucky enough to own other razors that would produce better or similar results without feeling like stubble is being scraped off.

I went through my usual rigmarole. 5/6 different blades (single use only), a couple of alternative handles and different points of grip. I think unfortunately it just wasn't for me. But thank you for the advice and time taken to try and remedy the razor for me.

Me! Advise! LOL
I’m looking (pestering) for advice everywhere.

Would you say your best shave with it was from the blade you would consider one of your “go to” / favourite blades?

Totally “get” the subjective nature of shaving and the equipment.
I’m just quantifying my Sample blade packs findings and respect yours and @Rowlers responses, especially as the Rocca fell short of the mark for you both.
