New Mühle stainless steel razor 'Rocca'

I'm falling out of the "first shave love" with the Rocca. It is just too much for me, too much blade feel, too picky on blades, too much care needed in use.
I can fling the 6C #6 around with little care and get a superb shave, no blade chatter/noise. The Rocca is just not doing it or me at the moment; I want it to work as it looks great!

Shows that different people have different techniques and preferences.

For me, the Rocca is a great mix of efficiency and comfort. But it can't be for everyone indeed.

Had a break through with the Rocca recently. I changed my grip to support the razor at the bottom of the handle with my little finger.

I’m now wondering if I am the only one that lathers up in a wine glass, wearing a top hat, with a watch on a chain hanging from my left nipple?

I find the grip quite cumbersome in that purely I'm not used to it. My preference is short handles, grip and weight towards the head.

I would have to agree with that. It was love at first sight for me but then things turned sour.

I am a newbie / returnee.
Left DE shaving 30 years ago, returned about two months ago.
I sort of agree that there is too much blade feel, it is very variable, dependent on blade and care is needed in use.
I get a quicker, safer shave with my 1985 Gillette adjustable.

However, being a Noob, this is the reason I am sticking with it, not sure if this is wisdom or folly though.

My logic is, to introduce further variables at this stage by buying numerous razors won’t help me.
Whereas trying different blades in a blade fussy, high feel, cautious use razor is showing a vast difference in each new brand I am trying, is making me shave much more cautiously and slowly, whilst concentrating on angle, pressure and speed, along with ensuring I make thorough prep, lather etc.

So far, Personna Blue are performing reasonably, the Nacet I used for three shaves made my face sizzle like an isotope (shame as it felt like a great shave for the first pass) and my first shave with a Voskhod (thank you @jeepie) this morning is the best I have experienced (three passes, no nicks, followed by a rub of alum all over a rinsed face, with almost zero stinging).
I still feel cautious to make judgement as no doubt the early experience is beginning to help.

I would like to add thanks to ATG and it’s members for their nuggets of wisdom and advice that have already assisted greatly and smoothed and shortened a bumpy road

Very wise approach. I did the opposite at the beginning and bought many razors ... the result being confusion. I now only have my Feather which I am very happy with - although I wouldn't mind an adjustable again to give me the option of living dangerously.

I didn't get a chance to shave with it as the head didn't fit together properly so I returned it with the intention of buying another one when they came back in stock.

I still like the look of it, but the only razor now I use now is the Blackbird. I have it dialled in perfectly and I am getting amazing shaves from it so I can't really justify getting it.

Sounds similar to my experiences, I will definitely try a Voskhod next. Sounds like a good plan to try and master the razor, look forward to hearing your thoughts.

That's the problem.
I'm not curious anymore.

A few weeks ago, I decided to change things a little and shave with an EJ89. It just felt odd. I got through half a pass before switching back to the Blackbird.

The only other razor I'm interested in is the Dart, but I'm not 100% sure I will get one.

I think with the Blackbird, I have found the 'One'.
