Precisely we can't all like the same razor. I absolutely adore my Gold Dollar straight razor which in some circles is blasphemy.

That’s my setup at the moment. New Rocca, used one Personna Blue, which was ok, then a Gillette Nacet, kindly donated by Jeepie. Got a really good shave, but on third pass found my skin was humming and had a slight glow in the dark, though no weepers...........or so I believed. Woke the following morning to discover a multitude of pinpricks.
Glad to hear you are thinking about revisiting angle. Makes me feel less useless as a Noob / reborn DE shaver.
Beginning to see, you never stop learning and that maybe complacency is often the cause (though not solely) of “one of those shaves”.
I have used the Rocca again this morning, after having shaved with a Fatip OC mainly for the last two weeks.
The Fatip has a bit more "bite", and of course is much lighter, but they actually don't feel that much different to me. Both are very efficient, and work best (again, for me) with a sharp blade.
I would say the Rocca is somewhat more forgiving than the Fatip OC. But both are medium aggressive razors, in my opinion.

Just goes to show how much of a variable one's impression is to another. I find the Fatip OC much smoother than the Rocca but again I have owned and used the Fatip for several years.
Yes, this is an excellent example of why one should be careful recommending razors to someone else ;-)
For instance, while I love the Fatip OC, I don't care for the Gillette New razors at all. But many others think the New is what the Fatip should be ;-)

Absolutely!
You did better than I did my friend ended up with pimples and a couple of white heads where I had shaved ATG on the lower portion of my neck. In all honesty I never shave ATG on my neck, reason I did so was my cheeks were very well shaven and the neck looked OK. Must get back on the bike tonight and see if I can master this tool.

Ahh yes, more luck than judgement I would hazard, plus I shave in slow motion, sometimes taking 45mins+ for three passes

Had a break through with the Rocca recently. I changed my grip to support the razor at the bottom of the handle with my little finger. This is different to my initial grip, a pincer action just below the head, above the middle of the handle. A much more comfortable shave yet still a razor that requires a higher level of concentration.
However the following shave was with my PILS and I have to say IMO the PILS does everything better. Obviously YMMV.
