My best blade for Rocca is Polsilver Super Iridium. Anything not so sharp blade (like Voskhod) in this razor causes a lot of irritation for me. I almost gave up using this razor after using totally wrong blades for me..
The blade's the thing. The razor is to a blade as a pistol is to a bullet -- just a means to an end.

@Nishy so worth investing in one being addicted to PILS or nahh?
Much, much more aggressive, (much more efficient too IMO) than the PILS. It depends on what you like, if you only like the feeling of the PILS, maybe you would not like the Rocca. I've only used mine once and find it brilliant. Very similar to the shave from a Rockwell 6C #6, but the Rocca louder.
Hope this helps.
Once I've had a good run with mine, I can let you try it out if you wish...

Only three shaves in my friend. However I prefer my PILS over this razor.

What I've discovered over three shaves:

First shave was with a Gillette Nacet, far too aggressive for my liking. Second with an Astra SP blade skipping, not sharp enough. Third with a Persona blue, much better. Of course this could be down to technique. First shave was a test using the same pressure as I would use with the Wolfman 0.74mm OC. Second was with very very little pressure and third with little pressure. Obviously subjective but you get my drift.

Rocca requires more attention compared to the PILS, currently. But have owned the PILS for a long time. Cheeks shave well, neck hasn't been excellent. Where the hair grows against the grain it doesn't mow it down with the comfort of the PILS. I may need to revisit angle again.

The reason I haven't given up is it deserves the same break in period as the Wolfman. It does cut the stubble 'deep' if you like.

In my experience, the Rocca requires a bit of attention indeed to get the optimal angle. But I don't feel it is outside of what an experienced wetshaver would be comfortable with. After a few shaves, I could use it on auto pilot (and I have been using it for almost one and half year now).

Of course, it's all YMMV.

I definitely need more shaves under my belt. If I can improve the comfort levels it will be an even better razor.

I found the initial comfort, 1st shave, outstanding. I did have a few weepers, but not a lot of AS sting. A straight 3 pass, no touch ups.
Strange...

It is just one of those things, I think we had similar experiences with the Blackbird OC. I did do a three pass shave with the Nacet but had a fair amount of sensitivity after the shave. 2 passes is definitely all I can do with it for now.
