New Blackland Sabre 2024

I really like my v2 Sabre, the original was great as well!

I am confused about GEM blades. I thought I would get more shaves out of them. I can not get 10 shaves from a GEM, I might be able to get a ninth, but eight is a good number for comfortable shaves. Yet I get 14+ from injector blades! I thought they would be more similar.
Me too. I only get six to seven good (close and comfortable) shaves from a gem blade. About the same as with injector blades. It beats the two or three shaves I get with DE blades.

At least you get the same, that is what I would expect, but I get 2x more with injectors. Oh well, not a big problem, just surprised me.

I get 5 from a GEM but 7 from an Injector or Artist Club blade - from my perspective the GEM blades are less sharp at the start and therefore get to ‘tugging’ level quicker.

I only got about 10 from an AC blade, similar to a GEM and less than an injector. I don't like the width, so I didn't keep any of my AC razors.

Just giving a little love to the Sabre V2. Used the L3 plate set up for this morning’s shave and just an incredibly good experience. An excellent 2.5 pass shave that almost felt that it was on autopilot from start to finish.I hadn’t used it in some time but, I picked up right were I left off a couple months back and it was as if I have been shaving with it exclusively. Easy to hold and find that perfect balance that is practically 2nd nature. Perhaps my familiarity with the OG Sabre helps significantly but, the V2 simply feels intuitive in my hands and delivers a knockout shave smoothness, authority & ease of use. All subjective based on my personal experience alone with this revamped Blackland beauty. In the SE GEM world, I consider it to be a juggernaut in its class. The versatility that it offers in shave levels, the balance and symmetry of its design and world class manufacturing & performance attributes is just literally unmatched. There is simply no other GEM produced razor before or presently since the V2 was released that offers the customization within your shave that the Sabre V2 delivers. The OG was exceptionally good and I still own one and use it. However, the V2 is just on another level and for me is the pinnacle in GEM razor design & performance.

I sound like a homer but, it simply is that good. I’ve been deliberating the thought of how would it would work & feel if it were in the Ti allo version. It’s been in my cart for a few days now just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. But, I’m real close….

A great shave by this well crafted kit. I do regret never pulling the trigger on the Ti version when it was available back then to be quite honest. And there is no certainty that it will come into production in the near or far future. Maybe perhaps as a Batch Special it could be brought in for a limited release however, I don’t know if that would be feasible for Blackland as this razor is project intensive with all the extra work & machining required to make it worthwhile. Meanwhile, the SS version is more than capable for holding the banner as the best & most versatile modern GEM razor in my possession.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hopefully the shave gods put an itch to Shane’s creative nature & the think tank crew at Blackland Razors.
