Had a conversation this AM with a very nice gentleman who drives vintage European cars and a Mercedes camper. He needed a part which was in Germany. He praised tariffs for getting the US to a level playing field with Europe. Who did he think was paying the tariffs, Germany? Germany makes the part that is not available here. He’s paying the tariff!!

Yes, ultimately the end user pays the import tariff and not the country where the part came from. Add to that anyone importing a shipment of various different goods will have the shipment opened on arrival in the receiving country so that each individual item can be tariffed at it's own rate. It is a losers game.
