Went to the surgery to have blood taken, for, as I was led to believe, prostate check.

Nice nurse who took it gave a long list of things I was being tested for, including prostate. Results would be in a few days. Fair enough I thought.

That was 9.30am. 3.31pm back comes the results! Doc doesn’t like my cholesterol levels and wants to offer me statins (again) and offers a appointment.

Will accept and find out the next chapter of this saga.

Ho hum.

Steve @Paper Plane, some folks (that of course would include me:facepalm:) experience awful leg cramps with statins. They got me in the middle of the night. Holy mama! Intense pain in my shins. Here’s what I learned. Check with your doctor first if you’re so inclined… A 100mg dose of CoQ10 in the evening, and as annoying as you might surmise, a generous glass of water in the hour leading up to lights out for solid night time hydration. For me it works fantastically. Since starting the regimen a decade ago I’ve only been bothered two or three times. For some reason, it actually helps keep the leg cramps at bay. I think it has something to do with muscles and proper hydration. Prostate issues notwithstanding I can generally get 4, sometimes 5-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep before nature calls.
