Had a fun exchange with Admiral insurance. Renewal for Porsche came through, last year £325, this…….£411. So contact them saying to cancel and they offer me a loyalty discount making it £379. Gocompare ? £168 ! Reason for the increase ? All due to rising repair costs, repair ? LOL If the Porsche gets involved in a crash it is over 40 years old, they would write it off ! They won’t answer the question why wasn’t the loyalty discount there from the start. All a big rip off !
In the US there are three options. We have to carry liability. The other policies cost more.Had a fun exchange with Admiral insurance. Renewal for Porsche came through, last year £325, this…….£411. Not sure what I would do in your shoes, being someone who hates being ripped off by insurers. Never had a fault claim in all my years of driving but still they know how to charge like a herd of wildebeest.Had a fun exchange with Admiral insurance. I have something like 37 years with no claims at all and a clean driving licence. I have a few weeks to investigate a better deal. Not sure what I would do in your shoes, being someone who hates being ripped off by insurers. £168 is about the mark, more or less what you would expect to pay for third party only, perhaps go for a large excess on comp on the basis that you would not be claiming for small repairs and effectively total loss only claims.

Best part is I was looking at a Porsche Boxster a couple of weeks ago, bearing in mind it was younger and a 2.7 and with the lad on too who is 25 and managed a quote of £259 ! It really upsets the 17/18 year olds at college LOL !Typical renewal story with any UK company.
Renewal quote is xx% higher than last year.
You ring them and they immediately offer to reduce it by same amount or more.
I honestly think it's just a numbers game for them - they try it on with everyone and see which "mugs" just renew.
Have had this with Virgin Media, Car insurance, House insurance, AA breakdown cover etc,etc
I spend an hour on the phone and "save" hundreds of £££'s![]()
Idk about prices in Canada, but based on my experiences in NY, be prepared to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Every time you say yes to an option the price goes up. My most recent pair of lenses get dark outdoors, have anti glare coatings and have the three prescriptions for close up, mid range and long distance. I try to put off new eyeglasses for as long as possible. It’s insane how expensive they have become.Decided to bite the bullet tomorrow to get fitted for and order my first set of bifocals. It should be interesting to see how much it will cost.

My eyeglasses insurance coverage is pitiful. Almost as bad as my dental coverage which I’m embarrassed to use. Last time I looked the dental insurance pays the dentist ~$7 for X-rays and a cleaning. At least the eyeglass coverage pays $125 every two years. Even with the insurance my glasses cost $600.Mine are free.
