Other than "slab houses", ours aren't on the ground, but are usually two or more feet off the ground with a crawl space for plumbing and insulation and such, and therefor have a "builders constructed" first floor.
So, your bottom level is a story, but not a floor? Curious stuff.

Watching Live Aid 40 on the TV - wish I’d been a few years older and able to get tickets - some great memories and some even better mullets

I remember watching it live at my then girlfriend’s parent’s house. I didn’t have a TV then, so I recorded Status Quo off the radio and then cycled over to hers with a 6 pack of beer strapped to the rack.

The internet weather shows a low rain perentage till the late afternoon so i should be able to finish/start-over the mowing of their lawn i started last week, it takes me a couple hours to do a "half" of their property and i try to do a half a day. More for something to physically do/train my body to work better than the lawn needing to be done...

Living near the airport, we are being treated to the rare sound of radial engines in vintage aircraft flying around. A local factory produced Harvard trainers for the RCAF post WWII. The same plant produced Hawker Hurricanes and Curtis Hell Divers during WWII.

We have not had an actual airshow in years. We are pretty close too and I can look into the cockpit of a CF 18 as it banks to line up with the runway. After 70 odd years living near the same airport, it never gets old.
