Dropped off some stuff at the little dry cleaners today in a tiny market town who kindly sort our washing when we are on holiday. As soon as I walked into the shop, the lady appeared from the back holding a single sock which she said was ours which got separated when we were here last months ago and she’d been holding onto it. Was utterly convinced it was a random sock and she’d got me confused with someone else but on checking with my wife she informs me it is her sock and she’d been looking for its other half!

When small businesses with dedicated owners really show up big business. 👍

There was a piece on some TV program such as 'How do they do it' and the question was how do laundry places and dry cleaners ensure that bits of the laundry do not get mislaid, everyone gets all their stuff back, years ago items were marked but now it is solved by technology.

I spent the morning scraping moss off the roof tiles that I could reach. I used a long handled hoe at it did the job very well.

I scraped the moss because I have learned that pressure washing concrete tiles does more harm than good and brushing the moss would mean standing on the tiles, that is not going to happen.

And then I find a pic of this crackpot.

Almost as bad as a near neighbour who uses a mains powered rotary lawn mower to trim his 12 feet high leylandii hedge, taking hold of the handles with the spinning blade and motor so high above his head,

A neighbour and his 8 year old son have been round for an hour with their English homework:

'Make a sentence using the word Run, a different meaning of the word Run each time'.

The boy had thought of 20 and made up the sentences by himself which I thought was pretty good, the father and I had tea and biscuits and just encouraged the lad, not sure that we could have helped much anyway, he was smarter than us!

The new fridge freezer was fitted today.

Mrs P, in her normal dynamic manner, sourced, ordered and paid for it on Sunday and two chaps came through, in the allotted time frame promised, and did the deed.

Just waiting now for the ‘resting’ period to be over so it can be switched on and, in due course, loaded.
