Most hated meal growing up.

Stuffed peppers! I can still detect if red, yellow or green bell peppers have been anywhere near any dish I'm served, no matter how deep they are in the mix

I don’t remember anything my Mother fed me that I ate reluctantly, although I never liked greasy lamb much. What I do remember as disgusting was sago or tapioca pudding for school dinners. That and the green kidneys with tubes in…

I can’t remember any thing other than that nasty paste, that my mum fed me as a kid. Not much I won’t eat apart from Celery, cant stand the stuff.

My Maternal Grandmother always fried sprats... I still hate them to this day. She had no qualms cooking with unsavoury ingredients such as cow brain. Her own Mother was born to Italian immigrants who moved here for the mining work in the 19th century, I think her taste in strange poverty food must have been inherited.

Just reminded me. My dad was a £10 Pom. Sailed off from Southampton to Australia. The food on Offer was no on ration and there was plenty of it too, things as well that they hasn't seen for a good while. Even in the roughest of seas dad would be in the restaurant whilst others were all being sea sick.

There was still some food rationing when I was quite young. Mother told me I once ate the week’s cheese ration in one go before she could stop me. Still love cheese!

That reminds me, when I was a nipper milk was rationed, amongst other things, so I was brought up on powdered milk, Klim, mainly. To this day I don’t like drinking milk, but have it in my tea. I do, however, like cream and cheese of any sort, but plain milk…bleh. Go figure.

I never liked plain milk. Recently I have moved over to alternatives as I seem to have an intolerance to dairy. I’ve found Oat very nice, I can drink that plain. Has a naturally sweeter taste, does make for a different tasting tea and coffee, nice in coffee but not quite the same in tea. Great on cereal.

You just reminded me of something else I hated growing up....powdered milk. Mom used to do a half and half to save a few pennies. Undrinkable.
