Monsavon - Bol à Raser

After reading this thread and becoming enabled, I looked into getting some Monsavon from across the pond. Soon found the shipping makes it not such a bargain anymore. Think I'll wait till I am in Europe again to pick some up. Might be a while though with this pandemic.

if we’re ever allowed back to the North American continent I’d be happy to bring over a tub and pop it in the post. Already lost 2 trips this year and starting to run out of all the American stuff we buy and bring home. It’s especially annoying now I’ve discovered so many new shaving soaps I want to try.

Outrageous, good job I bought 6 while they were cheap.

I am finding it difficult not to reach for this every shave despite having sme very nice options on the shelf. More recently I have been combing this with other more intense olfactory choices so as to add the post shave feel that Monsavon offers. Works well. I do not dislike the scent of Monsavon though on its own.

I agree. It really does offer something a lot of artisan soaps don't, you know you are going to get a great lather every time you use it. The only reason not to use it is FOMO.

That's pure robbery!
It is but look at it a different way. If this had been introduced as a new soap and you did not know it was 79p a tub in France or that it had been on sale at £3 and indeed far less than that on Amazon, would £6 seem reasonable in comparison with other far less efficient products at twice that price and more? :D

Fair enough.

On a different note, I've incidentally noticed that the beige Monsavon container has slightly changed.
Here is an old photo of a previous SOTD (maybe 4 or 5 years old), where you can clearly see engraved and embossed on the lid "BOL A RASER AUTHENTIQUE POIDS NET A L'EMBALLAGE 125 G". Now, it seems a sticker has replaced the old school inscriptions. At that time, I reused the container for MWF.
