On TSN as a seller you are not allowed to ask for a payment F&F but if the buyer does it on his own that is okay and saves you some money. DFS is very liberal with their BST rules only because there was a big riff between TSN and the Admin of DFS. I will not go into that as it brings up another can of worms.
My advise Caveat Emptor.

DFS is the forum with the scammer issues and now has a rule against F&F payments. Without checking, I thought I sold F&F on both forums before. On TSN, i did have some voluntarily use F&F as my price was good (really nice Australian buyer of brush).

WIth the normal pament method with fees, PayPal decides who is right - which may not be 100% correct.

G&S protects the buyer.
F&F protects the seller.
There are people out to take advantage on both sides.

If I didn't trust a seller enough to not pay with F&F when buying something I'd probably not buy at all.

I quite often trade items. There is no protection then other than the community and your own judgement.

Its down to both buyer and seller to satisfy themselves as to the trustworthiness of the other party.

I've read mention of "TSR don't allow F&F" I think to impose a strict rule like that would lose some of the freedom that ATG allows.

I have never had any issues on ATG as a buyer or a seller.

Very sensible take on the subject Sir. As always if something seems too good to be true it usually will be. If some noob you have never heard of offers you a rare razor for a cheap price then your hackles should rise and your common sense should tell you not to go down that really dark alley.

I'm really very sorry to hear of this, mate..Your post made for an upsetting read, @Nishy and I hope you are recovering from this hard blow. In this community, I like to believe there is a high level of trust and indeed have witnessed this and experienced it first hand on many occasions. In hoping for trust we may be accused of naivety which is utter rubbish but this example just proves there are still many out there who prey on such trust and exploit our gentlemanly code. Let us all learn from this sad tale but still not let those criminals destroy the backbone of our community and take away such trust.

Thank you for sharing all the same, Avnish.

Hello my friend (p.s. I will reply to your PM, my wife is looking into it as she is and I quote ''a lower limb specialist" no dirty puns please :)

Just to reiterate I wasn't the unfortunate party to have been scammed, nor was it on ATG. However I probably would have fallen for this too, as it wasn't blatantly obvious.

Regardless of whoever it is, you are right in that we have to be on our guard when processing these sales.
