Meissner Tremonia Aftershaves

Has anyone tried these? They're not cheap but this company has a reputation for only using top quality ingredients.

I had a sample size of the dark limes a while ago. I really liked the scent and the performance was decent too. I think the inclusion of the witch hazel helped.

While I rave about the company and most of their products, the aftershaves I do not like. Too sticky/tacky for me. If you like that Myrsol feeling, you'll find it in MT. I have a few and use them as hair tonics instead. Curiously, their hair tonics are too oily for me, but the aftershaves work a treat.

I really liked them. I prefer menthol in a splash, so a couple of them I particularly enjoyed. For non-mentholated splashes, I'd say they're as good as I've used - refreshing and gently cooling

I like them too. I have Strong 'n Scottish and Ice Mint Menthol and they feel great on my skin. I like Myrsol too @pjgh

I've no experience with the MT aftershaves but I don't think anyone would be sensitive to Floid, I think the Vigoroso is the best. My personal favourite scent is the Black, quite fruity. Myrsol Agua Balsamica is a soothing type of after shave and I find it really good if I've been over-enthusiastic with the razor

I've had their "Mint Ice Menthol" aftershave.
FYI on other sampled scents I've also had their "Salty Sea Sage" and "Pots of Milk" shave creams (in glass jar).

The subject aftershave offers:
- a strong to very strong (icy) scent and 'clean' skin feeling following application,
- good to good+ efficacy,
- no irritation or sting feeling on the skin following application (i.e. mild, very mild and very skin-friendly presence),
- average moisturising properties, i.e. slightly better than ToBS, AV (U.S.) or Mennen (U.S.), worse than Myrsol (any line) and much worse than Klar Klassik.
- high acquisition cost,
- packaging which (in my humble opinion) is well designed overall (glass bottle) however the plastic black cap that screws in proves not fully watertight, so beware.

In addition, from my little experience with the brand their scents are fairly flat, i.e. not particularly complex or multi-dimensional if I am allowed to say. They certainly lack the flair and classic elegance of (say) a traditional British aftershave scent.

The "Sea Salt Sage" scent is like "blue" + salt, somewhat less smooth and gentle (or -if you prefer- appearing somewhat more artificial than the Wickham Soap Co. "Southern Spray"). The "Pots of Milk" is toward the neutral spectrum, but not near enough I'd dare to say - smells something like goat cheese to me, in a way.

Overall and compared to the Myrsol line, the Meissner Tremonia appear to be less smooth or colourful in scent, (the aftershaves) offer clearly less post-moisturising ability, and both are quite soothing for the skin. The MT also appear superior 'clean' in feeling when applied.

Yes I would generally agree but Blue was great for the first 350ml and THEN started to cause mild irritation - enough to have to stop using it (and it was definitely the Floid). Damn skin.

I've heard this said about the blue before, perhaps there's a reason they stopped making it?

I suspect it was due to the EU directive aimed at perfume/cosmetic ingredients which may cause allergic reactions ( it matters not how small the risk.) It was obviously financially worthwhile Chanel reformulating No.5... But probably not Floïd Blue

For example, there is now a restriction on oak moss because the lab in Brussels declared there is a 3% risk of skin reaction, but I read a French perfumer calling it utter “connerie” as it’s not an allergen at the trace levels found in perfume, only in its raw state.

I have the lavender deluxe soap and splash and where the soap is excellent and has great lavender scent the splash is very disappointing. Little lavender in the scent and smells very medicinal and not particularly pleasant.

However I have persisted with it as the skin care is very good but try are about priced about a fiver too expensive for me.

I would buy another soap by them but doubt I would purchase another splash.
