@Nishy : I have the Leaf (and was sent a prototype of the Twig, too). Basically, you can use it a lot like e. g. the Mach 3, with more variability due to blade positioning/number used.
I wouldn't say it needs a thin lather, but a thick one wouldn't be very suitable as there just isn't a lot of space for flow through. Because of its design, it's better for more frequent shaves. Despite that, with a single blade in there, it has little trouble taking a week's worth off. In that case, I prefer going for a slick but thinner lather on the first pass and a thicker one on the second/third pass. An OC would make it easier to deal with, but the Leaf does a good job at it, if with more frequent razor rinsing.
It's the reason why I'll be selling or experimenting with the Focus Dynamic (FD) more (I'd like to slightly mod it to take short injector blades), as the FD is a bit too sensitive to a lack of glide, whereas the Leaf does away with much less of it and I get a worry free, very quick shave with it even if I didn't get enough sleep and can barely squeeze the door handle to get into the bathroom in the evening. It doesn't get as close as quickly as the FD, but it's pretty close. I'd say it's about as mild as the OneBlade Core, but considerably more efficient. Around the level of the Mamba, with occasionally more even results on the face after a pass, as it's not really angle sensitive.
I don't think it actually requires much pressure at all, just enough to get the blade to face level and then it's ace.
It's also not too large to use under the nose, although I just nudge the tip of mine away, go XTG pm the first pass and that is quite sufficient.
I think I've only ever really used it with a single blade loaded in the lowest position (near the lather holes), though. Haven't felt the need to change that much, because, well, it gives me the results I want the way I've used it. It should be easier to get into some areas with a blade loaded in the topmost position, but like I mentioned, I haven't felt the need to do so yet.
On another note, blade loading is a doddle and basically fool-proof.
The grip on the razor may not seem like much, but because it's narrower toward the head and wider on the other hand, in addition to having some grooves, it's quite easy to keep a grip on. It feels pretty nimble at the same time. Generally, I don't let the handle of the razor I use get wet much, though. The ixGrip beats it handily in sheer grippiness, but I find it unnecessary with this razor.
So far, it's the best alternative to the Mach 3 I've found and tried when it comes to ease and closeness of the shave in the same package. It's one of my best shaving related purchases. It also reminds me I keep meaning to sell about 50 razors...
