I felt the same way. When I first tried this soap I was disappointed and put it away for quite some time. Also, the first time around I used my shaving brush swirling away inside the soap tin. When I tried it again I used a guitar pick and scrapped enough out of the soap tin to place in my shaving bowl, similar to what you did, and built a magnificent lather!
