All I can say is I hated the ambassador. I tried to love it and used it for about a year. Too aggressive for me. I have 4 rocnel sailors, Tatara Muramasa, Denali Adjustable, Homelike taiga and now the konsul. No problems shaving with any of these adjustables, just the ambassador.
Its a lovely smooth razor and I forgive the way the underside of the baseplate looks because it shaves so nicely. I was worried about purchasing one because of my experiences with the ambassador, but I was surprised in such a nice way. Its a keeper for sure.
