Kai DE blade.

I find Feather DE blades to be just flimsy somehow, even though the measurements I've seen so far don't really support it, but that's how they feel to me. And not particularly sharp and not really smooth, although if they're indeed more prone to flex, then that could be just that.

Kai blades feel almost like their opposites. Stiffer, possibly sharper, usually quite smooth.

Perhaps it's worth noting that I'm a top cap rider most of the time and I think that likely has an effect on the feel part of the shave, too, due to the shallow blade angle.

I'm pretty sure there's a way of measuring all of this too, but it would be expensive to. :-P

I swear for these blades. They want respect. No logo on the blade and perfect wrap without any wax dots.

Don't even try to compare them with the Polsilver. Way better and sharper & also smoother.

For me they are better than the Dracula of Japan, Feather and if I had to buy a 100 pack of blades, KAI would be my choice.

Now that is interesting.
I find most DE blades a bit 'twangy' or something.
Anyway, prefer the SE and Injector blades and I think it is because of their stiffness.
With DE i tend to prefer feathers, so this might be well worth me giving a go.

You could try two injector blades in something like the Parker Variant. ;-)

Sorry, I just saw I haven't replied earlier. The injector blades work as mentioned, it's just a little fussy to load two (one is easy).

These must have been around for at least few years, AFAIK.

I bought some Kai blades recently out of interest. I have enough blades of my favourites to keep me going for a long time, so this was just a muckaround.

My initial verdict was that they are just another blade really. No complaints, nothing to write home about.

This morning I put the Kai in a Timeless 0.95 SS. Now I am one of those who doesn't get on with the Timeless particularly well. If I had to sum it up, I would say the Timeless doesn't give me any feedback about what angle to use... I might as well be rubbing a stainless steel spoon around my face, and the resulting shave is a crapshoot; sometimes great, sometimes not.

With a Kai in the Timeless, this is all change. I would say this is the biggest change I've ever noticed in a razor due to swapping blades. Perhaps it's because the Kai is wider? I found that suddenly I have enough feedback from the Timeless. I can tell the right angle. I got a phenomenally close shave, in every part of my face, with no irritation. It can't be a fluke either, because I had great certainty that I was using the razor right etc etc.

Maybe I'll now learn the Timeless properly, and then find other blades easier to use in it too.

Man, really good blades. @wintoid 's review was very accurate too with my experience.

I have only to add that these blades have the ability to transform when they are loaded in different razors. This is not always a good thing, maybe in milder razors you will find them just ok, but having tried them in Muhle R41, I have to say I appreciated them. Watch REALLY the angle, it bites when you lose it!

I had high hopes for these blades in my Rockwell 6S. I am one of those, who cannot get a good shave out of 6S. The blade is clamped to far from the edge and hence it would not be efficient enough.
I shim it to get a little better result.
I thought Kai being stiffer would help, but it was too harsh. I figure if they are wider, razor will have greater blade exposure and hence my issues with this blade.

I was getting bored, so I thought I would try a variety:Rapira Platinum Lux, Voskhod, PolSilver, Gillette Nacet, Personna Israeli Red and Personna Med Preps (which I thought were fakes). None of them gave me a better shave than the Kai. Kai has everything I want in a blade. No wax, No nonsense.
