I'm still on the fence about it.
Tbf I'm not a huge Gem razor fan, I hardly reach for mine.
Shane went ins(h)ane with this one.
Thankfully I'm not a fan of GEM razor.
If you ever have an opportunity to try the Sabre V2, do so. It‘s the only modern GEM razor I’ve tried, but is definitely a smoother shave than any other vintage razor I’ve ever used.

Here's the latest info of the Batch 004 that's being released tomorrow.

Batch 004
£175.00
Batch 004 drops Thursday, July 30th at 3pm PDT.
Batch 004 pays homage to the lather catcher razors of the early 1900s. Built from a single, solid piece of stainless steel, Batch 004 has no additional parts or fasteners. Like traditional lather catchers, the GEM blade is held in place under tension without the need for a top cap. A combination of through-holes, slots, and machining texture provides excellent grip and versatile hand positions. The shave is slightly mild with moderate efficiency.

Razor Type: Single Edge, GEM Blade

Well 23:00 hours hit and the Batch 004 became live, 42 minutes later it had sold out.
Did I buy one?
No I did not, I could have because I was on the fence still at 22:50 and I have said before that Gem razors were not really my thing and this razor would have worked around £200 with shipping and not counting possible customs fees.
I did seriously consider it but I can buy the Black version of the Blackbird for exactly the same money (it's a razor I know I'll enjoy) and I knew truth be told that the Batch 004 would in reality get used about 6 times in the year.
I might pick one up on the second hand market if the price is right but for now congratulations to those that brought it and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
I believe Shane is already working on a Batch 005, so I look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.
