Plate 4 will be the verdict gentleman, a case of stock being available is the issue. Some tie this month I believe
Shane, any long term plans to expand to plates 6,7, 8, etc....?Yep! We'll have a restock this month. Then we'll continue scaling production and producing on a monthly basis. It may be another 2-4 months until we're able to be fully stocked all the time. We're just stair-stepping production every month to make sure we can maintain/improve quality while we build.
There are no changes or additions planned for now, but we're evaluating as we go. The current focus is strictly on scaling production and solving a couple of small issues we ran into. Once we're producing at scale and meeting demand we'll be able to reassess if any additions are appropriate.Shane, any long term plans to expand to plates 6,7, 8, etc....?
My second shave with the Era today. Same set-up with the L4 plate and 2 days worth of growth again too.My first shave with the Era using the Level 4 SB.....
The razor was fitted with a brand-new Personna Lab Blue, in line with my usual strategy of sharp blade / medium aggressive razor and I had 2 days' worth of growth again in line with the current reality of working from home. Soap was Mammoth Fu Dao.
Summary: For the price point this is a very good razor indeed. Those expecting a Wolfman finish will be out of luck, but those wanting a drama free and effective shave, providing they find a plate to their liking in terms of efficiency, should almost certainly be impressed. The Era won't be going on BST for sure
- Looks: I like the clean design which is a little different to other razors on the market as far as I can tell
- Finish: No printing artefacts or similar. I can see the printing lines slightly underneath the finish on part of cap, but no big deal in the scheme of things. Reminds me of the Rockwell 6S overall
- Blade Clamping: Tolerances all seem good and the blade is clamped very firmly with no blade chatter in use. Approximately 1mm of blade is exposed beyond the sides of the cap. I think you would have to almost try on purpose to cut yourself on that
- Balance: The centre of gravity seems to be the top of the grip grooves on the handle. Perfect in my opinion
- Angle: Very easy to find. On the steep as opposed to shallow side
- Usage: Very intuitive. Picking up the razor for the first time, it felt familiar. Smooth and manoeuvrable in use and no issues accessing difficult areas such as under the nostrils. The efficiency belies the absence of blade feel. I felt like i was shaving with a Karve C SB / Gamechanger .84 SB, but getting the results of a Karve D SB or Muhle Rocca with the Era Level 4 SB plate.
- Quality of Shave: High end DFS in two passes plus touch-up, exactly as I hoped. No nicks, weepers or irritation as it should be and my skin didn't feel like it had been through any kind of ordeal

I don't know how it was playing in my mind that Era tops at 85 garms. Might be from initial info days. Not too keen with Karve at 115 gram so I think am just going to let it pass.Well this is turning into a boring thread of adulation for the Era, isn’t it! I now own a Level 5 open comb and although I generally like a bit of blade feel, I think the razor is great - very similar to the Lupo .95. My only criticism would be the weight. At 100g it feels heavy and is more than I usually like but with a Timeless ti crown handle it weighs just 70g and feels perfect, again just like the Lupo .95

Fair enough. Though it's worth mentioning that the Era is 15% lighter which isn't a trivial amount.I don't know how it was playing in my mind that Era tops at 85 garms. Might be from initial info days. Not too keen with Karve at 115 gram so I think am just going to let it pass.
By gamble, are you referring to the risk of a customs fee being applied? It won't happen at this price, unless you buy three.Any news as to when it will be available from UK stockists.....or do I have to gamble on an import??

What about 100? (The Emporium)By gamble, are you referring to the risk of a customs fee being applied? It won't happen at this price, unless you buy three.![]()
I'd buy a return ticket and collect personally, hoping they don't nab me in "Nothing to Declare" on return. What about 100? (The Emporium)

The only Blackland I possess is a Sabre...but I am interested in this one. I keep thinking back to the days when anything over 39USD could be taxed...but that is gone now. Unfortunately they are out of stock so I will just have to wait.By gamble, are you referring to the risk of a customs fee being applied? It won't happen at this price, unless you buy three.![]()
Shane mentioned on another forum that it would only be available directly from this company for the foreseeable future.Any news as to when it will be available from UK stockists.....or do I have to gamble on an import??
