I'm back with some questions about handle fit and a recommendation request

Oh, my word, i made the mistake, i sincerely apologise, i kind of rushed the reply and didn’t type the full website name... :o_o::o_o::o_o::oops::banghead::banghead::banghead:

It's razorbladesclub.com

Again, i'm truly sorry, i did not mean to mislead you.
No worries, happens to me too, many times.

Very nice website but the selection of razors is quite poor IMHO and there are no customer ratings etc. so i can't tell if previous buyers are happy with their purchases. Moreover - it only states coating but not the material.

HAVING SAID THAT - GOING A LITTLE OFF TOPIC
They seem to have a nice selection of blades and i'm keen to try various kinds of blades. ( https://www.razorbladesclub.com/razorblades/ )
i hope these are all original blades.

Will you kindly recommend which are the best to buy? (i'll buy some from each recommended brand)
I'd love to find blades that last for 5-7 shavings without skin irritation.

(maybe a) silly question: could it be that some blade brands work better with some razors than others?
for example, i mean to ask if it happened to someone that he bought blades of brand AAA and found out they are excellent shavers with one of his razors but the worst on an other razor he owns?
(this happened, once upon a time, with cd-writers and writeable cd's - some writeable cd's could not be written (well or at all) in some cd-writers)

The Lord razors are well regarded, the L5 is a copy of the Gillette Tech, and the L6 which i own myself is a copy of the Merkur 33.
As for razor blades, i'd recommend the Gillette Nacet, Perma Sharp and the Wizamet Silver Iridium. I'm certain that others will recommend some other good blades as well.

I don't see L5 nor L6 Lord razors there. The Merkur 33 isn't TTO.
i do see the blades though, thanks

And an excellent Japanese TTO razor for the best price on the web that is often forgotten in recommendations to beginners, the Feather Popular:
Thanks,
I'm not excited about the Lord models as they aren't TTO but the feather looks good. I just fear about the plastic parts. unsure of their lifespan and surviving a fall.

It is possible to damage almost any DE if it falls from high enough or just the right angle onto a hard surface. I know you are after a TTO for ease of loading a blade but consider that those butterfly doors and associated actuating mechanism add two more points where damage is possible in a fall. There are always trade-offs in construction of a DE razor, most other things too, so that virtually nothing is bullet proof against damage.

Maybe i wasn't explaining myself clearly. i'm not looking for $3 razors. the $3 razor i bought was for trying how DE will work for me
while it surprised me that such a cheap razor can shave so well, i do look for one of higher value as it's clear to me i got lucky with this one.

Since i still have a lot to learn, when it comes to finding a new razor and handle, your knowledge is very helpful, thank you all
Ah, apologies to you and @adrian ivanovici as well, then.
I was under the impression you were after a TTO or a new handle for the head you have already.

Thanks,

TTOs have a fair amount of places where they are fairly thin, so even the metal ones (including brass and steel) could bend/dent if they were to hit hard floor from a sufficient height. The doors would be particularly endangered, I think.

I have had a RazoRock Lupo taken a bit of a tumble and it survived it without any damage, but while it is a lightweight razor, it isn't a TTO one.

Have you looked on eBay for vintage Gillette TTOs yet?

No, i haven't looked for vintage razors anywhere, i prefer a new one.

I don't have a tendency to drop my razors, but it may happen. The Popular razor looks very attractive to me, but so does this BAILI (recommended earlier at this thread): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32808751847.html
The Baili you linked to is a decent shaver, but that handle isn't very ergonomic, as it isn't knurled across the length of the handle. Combined with the finish, I find mine to be somewhat slippery.
If I were to buy again, I'd either consider getting the shorter one:
,
looking for a grip for the long handled Baili or getting their adjustable one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002523185087.html .

Having said that... I due for a shave, so I might as well compare the long-handled Baili you linked to and the Weishi I have, as I don't remember having compared them directly yet, and report back.

Shave finished.
I appreciate that the Baili has tabs covered, but the Weishi was more efficient, had a more secure grip and was a little smoother for me.
The Baili is still a nice shaver.

I prefer my three piece razors, I think I'll move all four of my TTOs on anyway.

You might be right. But that's exactly how the Gillette's plastic handle is done (if i understood you correctly) it just has lines from top to botom

It's shorter from what i currently use so i'm not sure about it, and the longer one from above is a little longer than what i currently use. i think i'll do better with the longer one (not sure)

I saw it, it seems as it is not Baili, it's a Weidi.
Frankly speaking, my experience with the adjustable baby futur wasn't great so i'm not really excited about the adjustable ones. a fixed one that shaves good is all i need after all.

I think Weidi is something like a sister brand of Baili.
Having said that, you're right - if you can get shaves you like with a non-adjustable, then you don't need an adjustable. :)

In any case, I'd suggest getting the Lemonwald handle for the head you are happy with and a Weishi 9306FL as your TTO, but whatever you end up going for, it's likely to work for you, as long as you would get used to it.
