I enjoy looking - I was surprised to see how little the Rolls razor set I have goes for on the Bay. Whatever anyone may think of it, it’s an amazing piece of engineering.
There was some scandal about Rolls razor when they were in production.
My shaving journey was a mess, the basic issue was that we didn't have much in the way of knowledge or good product, there was also a tendency to believe everything that a manufacturer told you.
Started off with a Philishave electric during the week and early cartridge razors at the weekend with Gillette foam shave, then went all cartridge shaves for many years. When the prices of the blades became silly I stopped.
Now it is a Gillette Tech DE razor, Dorco blades and a home made shaving soap, I learn from Youtube and more knowledgeable people on here and I am very happy at the outcome.
The two pieces of advice that I would give to anyone starting out on wet shaving is take your time and always use a moisturiser after you have dried your face. We all have our favourite creams and generally speaking I have found that I need to use less of a more expensive cream to get the same result.
Its all relative, Mrs Vac has been shopping and come home with a £98 50ml jar of Clarins, my QV (expensive) moisturiser costs £13 for 500ml
