Hot Towel Shaves vs At-Home Routine - What’s Better?

I’ve been thinking about switching up my grooming routine and trying a proper barbershop shave instead of doing everything at home. Tried a session at Chaps & Co recently, and the setup felt a lot more detailed than my usual DIY routine.

For those who’ve tried both, is a professional shave actually worth sticking to, or just hype?

Curious what you guys prefer.

Well a real deal Barber Shop Straight Shave out by me is about 45 USD, takes 20" to 30 minutes, and then the Barber expects a TIP.

I shave daily, do not make a big deal of it, shower post shave. If I showered Pre-Shave I might get better results.

The one advantage of a Barber doing straight Shave is they can work ever possible angle to best BBS, but it take TIME n MONEY. Recall my last Real Deal Barber Straight Shave was at a Barber College, took over 30 minutes, and was very reasonable.

But it was a pain in backside being stuck many down on back in Barber Chair for that ordeal, plus was worried the student might draw blood.c. cThis was over 30 years ago, and will never do again.
