Dear Fellow Wet Shavers,
In my 50 years of wet shaving I have always shaves with hot water. Now that I have started watching the “experts” YouTube videos I have seen cold water is recommended.
Any advice from the ATG community would be greatly appreciated.

I prefer a warm water shave, never hot water for me. For a shower, I go lukewarm, then finish off with cold water. PS. If you have never experienced an ice bath, a cold water shower is more difficult.

Thank you all very much for your advice. Yesterday’s cold shave was efficient but not overly comfortable. I recall my father complaining about shaving shaving out of his helmet with cold water during his time in the USMC. That may be why I never tried cold water. I am looking forward to trying warm water next.
