Now the site says out of stock. Some polished finish razors are available. All satin finishes are out of stock.

Got a 1.18 to give it a try and honestly it is one of the most inefficient razors I have ever had. And I had many. Zero blade exposure means that even such a big gap is useless. If you like blade feel and efficiency, stay away from this razor. It’s almost as frustrating as a feather ASD2, with very poor finish, but hey it’s cheap

It's plenty efficient, but like with a Tech, you just have to keep the sweet spot angle. Then it's as efficient as any razor.
It isn't that easy to keep it when shaving rounder features of the face, though, and the lack of blade feel doesn't help there. Perhaps that aspect is better with the new, narrower top cap.

Nope it’s not efficient. Can’t be with zero exposure. Whatever the angle, if you’ve got thick stubble like me, the shave won’t be deep. Even if you have 5 passes. It’s ok if you don’t mind not having a proper BBS.
I really was reluctant to comment on it, because I don’t want to get sucked into the usual argument about efficiency. But people are wasting their money based on these comments, and I just wanted to let ppl like me know that it’s a mild razor that’s it

I have pretty hardy and thick stubble myself, so I'm speaking from experience with milder razors.
However, after some more thought, I agree that a positive blade exposure can be more efficient, but that doesn't make neutral exposure ones inefficient, just a bit less efficient than. For me, the difference is that I have to do a pickup pass, but my skin doesn't mind as it would with a positive exposure head.

I have to agree with Carlo here. For me, it shaved well but the lack of blade feel on my face just didn't give me the feedback I need during the shave. Don't get me wrong, I was constantly amazed at the result it gave. It shaved me just as smooth as anything I own but it just slipped over my face with zero blade feel and I never knew if it was cutting or not. It was of course. For some shavers that would be absolute Heaven, me, I need to feel a little blade so I know where I am so sadly it's gone to pastures new.

Thank you carbold! I was contemplating to buy this one. Now I have decided not to.
Don't just write it off on the say so of one, unless you know that you both like the same razors. It is suberbly efficient IMO - I've just had 2 fantastic, two pass shave with the .90 OC. It's my current favourite DE. You need to try it before writing it off...

same here-loved mine so much I ordered his newest 316l version- as superbly smooth and efficient as well-did not like the new carbon version however so blade exposure is maybe the problem for me-but then we are all so different-and not easy to please at times?? and his taiga is the best adjustable that I have ever owned and used- beats hands down any of the rocnel sailor- 2x rex ambassadors and even the barbaros-rocnel collaboration version-
