If anyone's after one there's a used one on the bay for like £85 delivered, if you want to save custom fees and get it quicker too

Would be nice to say why, though, as that could apply to any new(ish) razor post.
Just being grumpy, to be honest. One must keep up one’s dour Scotsman image after all. It’s too modern in looks for me, the pivot is unnecessary and it’ll be awfully light. One for the headshavers?

Understood. :)
I find these new razors with a pivoting head good in a rush, or just when I'm groggy enough that I wouldn't necessarily trust myself with a DE/SE but still fancy a shave.

This particular razor is indeed a featherweight, but still weights enough to provide just a bit of tactile feedback when shifted in hand. For me, that's heavy enough, even if I would prefer just a bit more weight ordinarily.

I completely understand your point and must remind myself that the more variety, the better. Different strokes for different folks. I must also be less grumpy x 100 lines. 😂🙈

@slapo how's the razor going? Your thoughts?
I haven't shaved with it since yesterday, so unchanged so far.
Then again, I haven't shared much, so here goes:
- Well made, though there was a little bit of metal detritus left, but easily wiped off.
- Lightweight, but not too light - there's enough weight and volume to make the razor's position easily known and be held comfortably.
- Fairly efficient - the first shave was two passes and pick ups on trouble spots.
- Didn't really clog for me, which is good for about 5 days of growth.
- Blade loading is easy and the blade is held in place securely.
- I tried using the built-in angle without engaging the pivot, and then engaging the pivot minimally, but got the best results using the same technique that I use with my OneBlade and Focus R48, which is with handle nearly perpendicular to the shaved surface and only enough pressure to engage the pivot.

@slapo
How do you compare HPRC to Focus R48?
To me, fairly similar in use, but the High Proof razor has better flow-through, and loading the blade is a bit easier.
The HP has a better handle for me, but the R48 has a more compact head.
I don't have the R48 Evo, though, and that one, from what I'd heard, is a different animal from the original R48 shave-wise.
