High-end razors

A few years ago, I suppose I had owned or tried the majority of what was considered 'high end' at the time. At that point, the height of exclusivity involved shaving with Gillette Aristocrats, the Pils DE, and interesting vintage straights. Then came Weber, the AS-D1, iKon and suddenly, by the time ATT was releasing, I was behind the curve.

I'd love a Blackbird SB in Black Oxide or a Wolfman Dual Comb but I can't quite bring myself to stump up the cash. The only purchases I've made above £100 were from Morris & Forndran in 2013 and Mongoose in 2015. Even my more exclusive items - such as Aristocrats, Heljestrands, Gillette Blue Tip Rocket, Feather injector set etc - were acquired for under 'three figures'. I've had a self-imposed limit since 2015-ish when I was saving for an engagement ring, which became saving for the wedding, and now saving for a deposit to buy our first house.

The Pass Arounds are excellent for getting a flavour and orienting my preferences. I've had a go on high-end razors such as Cobra Classic, Asylum RX etc thanks to the generosity of fellow members. I'm hoping to try the Timeless that's doing the rounds soon.

I note that, despite having tried an awful lot of interesting razors, I do reach for relatively humble razors in the main: currently the Colonial General, later Schick injectors, and only the occasional Gillette DE or GEM SE shave. That said, I really enjoy coveting the aforementioned 'High end' razors so please, Gents, keep buying them so I can live vicariously through you!

In the same boat as yourself @Burgundy i believe kids are the next next next step. May as well live for the moment.

The question, then, is what are the next and next next? House being one, and the other?

@Burgundy I'm sure I'm not the only one spending funds on shaving gear which could or should have been spent alternatively or preferably saved. Good man for managing to follow your priorities!
