I have now had 3 shaves with a beginner shaver Edwin Jagger DE89 with a feather blade.
It does not seam to cut close enough ! I have to make 3 passes , soaping up between them of course, use Proraso pre shave cream and Trumper ecris shave soap , I do struggle with the angle, as I cannot hear it cutting ( being profoundly deaf does not help )
Would it be worth trying a different DE or SE or even one that is adjustable
Any help would be appreciated or am I expecting to much to soon !!

It sounds like you are doing everything right and perhaps you could improve your technique as opposed to changing the hardware. It could even be your expectations, I don't try to have the same smoothness on my chin as I have on my inner forearm, I could try harder but at the risk of shaving rashes and cuts, others may take a different view.

I do recommend a moisturiser after you have shaved, almost anything according to your budget.

Yea, with only 3 shaves in it is like a rifle shooter wondering why they can't it the bullseye at 1000 yd/m after only 3 tries. It does take a long while to perfect your technique and you are using good gear already.

Three shaves in is far too early to expect stellar results especially if you're having problems maintaining the angle. A cartridge will adjust itself for you, a DE will not. Your lather consistency might be off too, if you're shooting for the same thickness as what comes out of a can that's too thick and you won't get proper blade contact.
