I wanted to take a moment to briefly introduce myself to the community. My name is Hilmar, I am 68 years old, and I’m logging in from Frankfurt / Germany
Traditional wet shaving has long evolved from a daily routine into a true passion for me. When it comes to performance, my golden rule is always: efficient but smooth.
Over the years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for high-end artisan hardware. I have a particular soft spot for precision-engineered razors made of polished stainless steel, titanium, and bronze – and I thoroughly enjoy a good Slant design. If you appreciate the craftsmanship of artisans like Wolfman, Rocnel, or Atelier Durdan, you know exactly what kind of rabbit hole I'm talking about. To balance the hardware, I also love exploring the endless world of artisan shaving soaps.
I’m very much looking forward to sharing experiences, talking shop, and learning from the great minds here at Against the Grain!
