Has anyone been cancelled over badger brushes?

The photographs of badger farming in China on the PETA website are horrific and have lead to a large number of cosmetic brush manufacturers refusing to use sable and badger in the future.

If I was lucky enough to have a badger come and visit my garden (a friend has six badgers that come to his garden) then I would be putting food down for them so it would be bit hypocritical for me to support a badger brush business that funds the trade.

I appreciate that this may not be a popular view on a forum such as this, we are all entitled to have our own view so I hope that you will understand that I am not going to enter into a debate on the subject.

Eta

Apologies to the op, I answered without knowing the meaning of the phrase to be cancelled, a new phrase to me, if it helps anyone else it is to lose the support of others.

At the end of the day you have to do what you feel is right by your own principles, my father would never buy anything made in Japan and my daughter still reminds me of the day she brought home a fur coat, the only roof that fur coat saw was attached to a wheelie bin

My wife and I feed, and home, badgers and hedgehogs. I'm looking to trying out my new hedgehog brush!

I enjoy both… but more than not I use synthetic.
I’m not informed enough to have a strong opinion on the conservation of badgers and their habitat.
I’m not in the market for any new brushes. So, there’s no real reason for me to investigate the plight of the badgers in China at the moment.

I'm an equal opportunity offender.

Mostly I use badgers.

This is my only horse, but it's a very good brush by any standard. This is also my only synthetic, but I'd swear it was a silvertip badger three band if I didn't know different.

Currently, for December, I'm using only boars and misturas.

Happy shaves,

Jim

I use equally badger, boar and synthetic brushes. I love animals but let’s be honest we as humans needs food, so we kill pigs, chickens, beef, horses in some countries, rabbits, ducks, and the list can continue.

We need fields that destroy the habitat of a lots of animals, we also use the lots of woods that also destroy the ecosystem. I can continue this for miles I am sure, but you got the point.

I also don’t like Zoos cause I think it’s not the right place to be for wild animals, but I will go happily there for my son and show him the importance of those animals for us.

What is to worry more about Chinese badgers killing. We as humans have to make compromises.

So I’ll keep buying the brushes that I like as I’ll keep buying food, and guitars and basses made of wood.
Sorry for the rant, and sorry if I hurt someone feeling.
Enjoy your holidays with your family and friends that is what really matters in those difficult times.:D

I have all three with badgers comprising the most. I prefer my Paladins, Shavemacs, and Simpsons both for their performance and feel.

I've found myself using my synthetics more and more and my badgers less and less. I don't find the synthetics too soft but, rather, pretty much "just right." In fact, the badgers I'm particularly using less and less are those with more backbone (such as a beautiful Morris & Forndran blonde badger I got not long ago). And, by contrast, the badgers I use the most these days are the softer ones, such as a Kent BK8 and an Elite HMW.
