I have known a person suffering from terminal cancer who expressed the wish to die at home by MAID. They became very ill and were hospitalised with very strong pain medication being done. Their doctor said no to MAID as the medications made the patient unable to comprehend their actions. They died in hospital with family members taking shifts watching the patient slowly die.

Qualifying for MAID in Canada is a complicated issue and not as simple as some would have you believe.
