Godrej shave soap any thoughts?

I have a 1912 Christmas soap lined up. I will also be releasing the Classic 24 soon. Then if I have time the bath soap and pre-shave face soap will be released also in time for Crimbo. Next year I will try to get the Club Cola and Parma Violet aftershave balms ready for release. There are some other soaps I have been working on but it's early days to make an announcement as they may not go ahead.

I have put the Super Smooth on the back burner and will pick this up in the New Year. I don't seem to be getting this quite right and have been doing a lot of bed time reading to find ways to over come the issues I'm faced with. I do have some ideas to try but these will stay on paper for the time being.

Also have a joint venture to complete.

So quite a lot to keep me busy.

Mem you are already signed up but I will start a dedicated thread for the Rose testing nearer the time.

What is your thinking regarding two different lines of soap? The 1912 knocks spots off the SS v2 betas that I tested on TSR... Does each line have a different goal?

Loyalty to Super Smooth customers. I have received and still do from customers who are upset that it's gone. I also like the idea and challenge of improving the formula. It has forced me to look into areas that I might not of done otherwise. One being botanicals. What I am learning through reading and experimentation I can carry across to the bath and face soaps.

Yes very much so, the Super Smooth is made from a very simple list of ingredients. Made with 100% KOH, (potassium hydroxide) it is a very soft soap compared to the 1912. But you are right 1912 is leagues above this soap, though I do hope to change this.

This is off topic, but I cannot find the thread where we talked about Vicco. Has your wife discovered Vicco yet? Mine has, and likes it as a face scrub and "semi-primer" so much that when my 8 tubes arrive from India, I hand 2 of them over to her straight away.

Yep I have 3 tubes of vicco, they are great foam based shaving creams. The ingredients list is quite extensive but I do enjoy both performance and smell of this cheap cream.

Lol I think we spoke about vicco in a few threads. My wife is asain and she recons we shouldn't trust the products from straight from india, pakistan. asain made for that market Etc, she says from her experience going over with her family they have lower product standards and may use unsanitary water. Lol I said yep ok whatever and still use them i've not heard of anyone getting a rash or reacting. Well my vicco is safe for now lol.

As I remember your first impressions of Vicco were... let's say "mixed". Have you persevered with it or..? "Standards" are an odd thing - some would trust Pakistan over India, for a variety of not very sensible reasons. For that matter, the FDA in the US had some very odd definitions: Unless this is a legend, I understand that for a long time "Organic" just meant "not man-made".

Its not my fav but I do use it as its my one of my fav spicy scented creams and it is a good cream. I did as you said with the hot water and it did kick it up a notch. I've been using that hot water to heat over tube creams as well now. And my wife is pakistani but she don't trust from either pakistan or india lol. She just recons those made for locals are more likely to use cheaper ingredients or that you wouldn't want near your skin lol

IMG_8080.JPG While looking though my container of open shave cream soaps for my Godrej soaps, I came across an open DETTOL Shave Soap. Forgot how fantastic it was! I must try.

Vicco can be found in the UK in some Asian supermarkets. I'm fortunate to have a stockist 5 minutes away from work. The packs sold there are specifically marked 'Export' and carry the name of the UK distributor.
