Gloves

Agreed, I had a pair of Helly Hansen polar mitts until I lost them and they were far warmer than any gloves I tried. I have Reynaud's so know how crappy having cold hands and trying to find good gloves is.
While looking I saw ones for suffers of Reynauds with silver thread woven in.

My experience has been that prevention is better than cure, I manage quite happily with normal gloves as long as I put them on before my hands get cold. That bit's important because when they get cold they don’t generate any heat. I’ve also found that when driving I need thinnish gloves as I need some insulation but the heat from the car needs to be able to get in.

Know what you mean about the car, especially if you have had to de-ice. Also there’s a need to gradually warm your hands if they get too cold. Heated steering wheel that’s the way to go.

Dunno what they are laughing at.
They look smashing.
They are proper made things aren't they?
Preshrunk etc etc.
They sell them in climbing shops.
I think they seem a decent price too.
I am looking forward to how you get on with them.
Like you say, they need to be put on indoors before your hands get cold don't they?

I like the look. Yes preshrunk, apparently they wash them several times in boiling hot water which turns them into almost felt, that I can confirm too. Nice and soft as well. Yeah climbing shops sell them, I got mine for £26 inc postage. Not bothered about the family, the pain when they get cold is unbearable.

Decent price delivered. Where did you get yours? Think the wife would like these.

Also quite long, they fold over fine, but the extra length means you get them up your arm a little more than normal, extra warmth.

If I was going for a pair of those I'd want the same colour as yours, proper old-school like Clint wore up the Eiger. Wish I'd had a pair this morning actually as I chiselled the car out of its iceberg.

Oh yes Eiger mitts, good enough for Mr Eastwood, good enough for me.

Well first test a walk with Mrs Saint and our Springer. Fairly cold wind out there, one that would normally cause pain due to the cold and...........they bloody well work, hands kept warm enough and no pain ! Very pleased !
