I generally do not watch or listen to TV advertising. However the reactions to the Gillette ads are interesting and varied. Ads are designed to sell things. Gillette advertises to sell razors & blades. It didn't think too much about it until my wife mentioned it. She loved the ad as do all her girl friends! Women represent approximately 30% of Gillette's market. They also charge more (15-20%) for women's shave gear than men's. The ad may be directed at women but they work on two levels. It has men in the US talking and some getting emotional about it. I must agree with you chaps. I don't understand the emotion. DFS closed a thread due to heated discussion. Ads that do spark discussion & emotion are often successful.
