Gillette in Slough

Found this while researching my latest model railway project and thought it might amuse Forum members.

The company set up on Slough Trading Estare in 1924 it seems but I haven't been able to find out when they left as I'm pretty sure they aren't there now.

Where can I find out more about Slough's history?
Slough libraries local studies collection can be found in the Library at The Curve and holds many books, newspapers, maps, photographs and other items to help you learn more about Slough's past. See also the libraries pages on family history resources and local studies.

Slough Museum is another good source of information at The Curve, where you can see eight museum pods celebrating the town’s past, present and future.

Visit the Slough History Online website to discover the interesting stories and characters in Slough’s past. Over a thousand photos of the borough’s past and present are available as well as copies of the Slough Observer dated between 1883 and 1929.

Looks like Gillette left the Slough factory around 1935.

The merger between Gillette and the Valet Auto strop Razor Company
to form Gillette Industries YK Ltd, created a need to rationalise
razor and blade production in Britain. In 1935, Gillette purchased
land in Isleworth at the junction of the Great West Road and Syon
Lane and began the planning of a new London factory. The Isleworth
works was to house the combined production of Gillette's factory at
Slough and the City Road, London works of the Valet Auto strops
Razor Company.

Honestly don't know if it's still in use, but with such a big plot of land, if it wasn't they'd knock it down to build housing (although it might be protected). According to Google Maps, there's a film production company there
