Thanks for the afternoon chuckle. In light of what is now happening globally, I would not be too quick to brag about British inventions or some of the countries founded by Britain mentioned in the video.

I was about to look up Bbo after trying to work out what it meant, I thought Be Back .... then the penny dropped.

I didn't dare open the vid, that depressed about where we are and the prospects for our young people, funded good quality training has been an issue since the 1960s and never done properly.

Sorry, the Bbo was a typing error on my part.

I live in a country that the British took from the French after their defeat on the Plains of Abraham. In order not to tie up British troops for use in colonising other countries, Quebec was allowed to keep their own civil and criminal laws. This has lead to a lingering separation movement to this day. This makes it very difficult to try and keep Canada together as a country. It has also helped spawn a western separatist movement which has been encouraged by our neighbours south of the border. It is a very uncomfortable situation to be in.

The colonisation of 3/4 of the world is only a small part of the video; what's incredible is what we invented, simply amazing, what the British gave the rest of the world.
Colonisation of 3/4 of the world was a small part of the video. What happened in those colonies has huge detrimental consequences globally today.

The fall out from those incredible number of inventions have had unintended consequences in today's global political and economic situation. That just might be a case of trading one set of problems for new ones. It is a catch 22 situation.

I just finished watching the 2018 Movie, The Nightingale. It depicts the practice of deporting convicts and its impact on indigenous people as well as those forced to migrate.

That opens up another can of worms that many countries are still trying to deal with today.

I did a little research. After the Revolutionary War and the loss of American Colonies, England had to find somewhere else to send their criminals. The crimes were often petty. Many died in transit. Apparently, England was running out of room.

Probably just an easy way to get rid of the trash/malcontents
