I've found it hard to fight the urge but I've convinced myself it can't be polished.The one I borrowed was certainly showing signs of tarnishing but I was asked not to polish it under any circumstances!it was hard but I gave it back nicely tarnished. P.

Yeah, the one I borrowed from @Nishy was deffo bead/sand blasted for a textured finished. To actually polish it properly is a good bit of of work..
I've just done it with a toothbrush, Blanx toothpaste and an old t-shirt and it's come up a treat.
And has that removed the textured finish?
